December 17th at 7 p.m.
The students at St. Joseph have been working hard all year to prepare for our annual Christmas Program! This year the program will take the form of an Advent Lessons and Carols service. Although the service is Anglican in origin, those who crafted the idea were basing the format of nine lessons on the nocturnes of the Office of Matins for high feast days as celebrated in the medieval Catholic monastic tradition.
Our 5th grade class will serve as lectors for the nine readings that outline the entire history of salvation, from creation to the call to discipleship. As we reflect on the beauty of God's plan for humanity, we will experience the beauty of the human voice, and some of our organ students will have the opportunity to follow the command of psalm 33:3 to 'play loudly, with all their skill!'
All students, preschool through 8th grade are involved in the program. Students should wear modest Sunday Mass attire for the performance, please.
Join us in the school gym for an evening of scripture, music, and prayer as we come together to glorify the Lord!
