Keeping all of our grounds looking their best requires help from everyone. There are many areas of service for you to choose from.

 ADORATION CHAPEL FLOWERS

Fresh flowers are replaced as much as possible in the adoration chapel each week. Garden flowers and donated purchased flowers are gratefully accepted.

CHURCH FLOWERS 

Flowers that add to the beauty of the church require assistance to be arranged or changed out for various seasons of the year or events. The beautiful liturgical seasons of Christmas and Easter requirerequire additional preparation and decorating where help is most welcome!

Sacristy laundry

Sacristy laundry is cleaned on a regular basis; altar linens are cleaned twice a year. At present, volunteers rotate approximately every 6 to 8 weeks allowing a week for the laundering and return of items. Training is provided for the proper care of washing and ironing sacramental linenes.

 

Server albs

Server albs get lots of use, require cleaning every 3 to 4 months and sometimes need repair.

Apostle Build

This is a diocesan program to help build homes for families in need. This program operates every other year. A build is scheduled for Summer 2025.

The Lord’s Diner

Help feed the hungry. St. Joe Parish is scheduled to help on the first Monday of each month from 5-7:30pm.

Pro-Life Outreach at Garden Plain

Help provide for the needs of mothers and their babies through various charities.

Money counters

Each Monday, except holy days and legal holidays, the parish collection is counted and prepared for deposit. Volunteers serving on a rotation basis. Counting begins at 8:30 or 9am in the Parish Office, and finishes in approximately 30 minutes.

Beirock Bakes & GERMAN DINNER

Beirocks are an amazing fundraiser for our school! They are baked on a regular basis from October to February. Meat is prepared in advance. Bakes are usually on Saturdays 7am-noon, and packaging is done on Sunday after Mass.  

The German Dinner is an annual  fund raiser is held on the first Sunday of March and features our famous beirocks. All parishiners are most welcome to help with service and or donations.

Cleaning Crew

Once each week volunteers clean the school buildings during the months school is in session. Volunteers work together with a crew of approx. 4-6, assigned on rotation.

Coaching

Our school is a member of CSAL [Catholic Schools Athletic League] participating each year in volleyball, basketball, and track.

Library

The school’s library, located in the basement of the Old School building offers time each week for classes to visit, check out books and take AR (accelerated reader) tests.

Lunch Preparation

Student lunches are currently prepared off site and served here. Help is needed to serve, wash trays and occasional oven prep & cooking. Approx. 10:30am-1:30pm

Special Projects Helper
