Math in 6th Language Arts? You're Knot Serious?!

Our nonfiction passage in 6th grade language arts this week deals with using math in the sciences.  Physicists and mathematicians work together to create knots and unknots to use as diagrams for DNA, atomic bonds, and other applications.  As part of the passage, it gives directions for creating different kinds of knots as well as making a cat's cradle or Jacob's ladder and other kinds of string unknots.
